The Bond
In May of 2018 North Miami residents banded together to defeat a $120 Million Dollar Bond that the City of North Miami, under poor management, wanted the tax payers to cough up. After participating in the process of learning about the bond, engaging in the public townhalls and other sales pitches, residents were pretty sure this was a bad deal. The language of the bond did not attach funds to specific projects, did not adequately provide accountability to the tax payers and was plain too much money for us to absorb. In the years since, it has been clear that residents were astute to have voted no on all four bond proposals.

After annexing the area, the City of North Miami, change the zoning and Abreu Development tried to place a Wendys in the residential neighborhood

The City of North Miami authorized construction without first installing proper infrastructure. Despite flooding, the council continued to authorize projects for Abreu Developments from 2018 to 2022.
